GUNNER X RAIN LITTER
All Pups Are Sold - Thanks
Featuring A Pedigree With No Lean Mac
A review of our 10 litters born during the past five years revealed that we have
used 5 FC-AFC, 1 QAA, 2 HRCH and 1 MH sires, but our best litter was sired
by GRHRCH Riverwalk's Gunner Boy MH. Choosing a sire for Rain's first
litter was made even easier after HRCH Archway's C U Later (GRHRCH Gunner
X Archway's Not Now Honey JH) earned her HRC Finished title this Spring. A
noted judge with 30 years of training and judging experience commented
that "Gator" just might be the best marking dog he has ever seen. We are
hoping that lightning will strike twice in our second litter sired by Gunner.
Gunner was originally chosen because he is a 3/4-brother of NFC AFC Dewey's Drake of Moon Rivers and FC FTCH AFTCH Talorslab Magic Trick MH CD. All three are sired by FC AFC Hilltop's Hayseed and they share a common maternal grandsire, FC AFC Gunstocks Butch From Winifox. Traditional wisdom would have been to pick the NFC or the FC AFC, but we like the female line in Gunner's pedigree better -- Gunstock's Ms Gene Pool, Ms Mischief Tanks Harley A Lot, FC AFC FTCH Candlewood's Ms M. B. Kate and, last but not least, 3X NFC AFC Candlewood's Tanks A Lot, the mother of 22 champions. Gunstock's Ms Gene Pool produced three Master Hunters in her only litter. Ms Mischief Tanks Harley A Lot is the mother of two National Finalists, FC AFC Harley's Super Triven Mac and FC Mad River's Maggie McBunn. Maggie also had 42 Derby points. FC AFC FTCH Candlewood's Ms M. B. Kate is the mother of one of Lean Mac's most productive sons, FC AFC Fargo II, and FC AFC Top Gun Abel Oakley, FC AFC Murphy Isn't Brown Shes Black, FC Candlewoods Lotta Black Pepper and Ms Lean Mac'ce QAA, the mother of the 2008 National High Point Open Dog, FC AFC Cody Cut A Lean Grade. Everywhere you look in Gunner's pedigree you will find both male and female performers and producers.
We have never had a dog that enjoyed her work more that Rain does and it shows in the way she runs. She runs all her marks, land or water, with the same style and enthusiasm. She has outstanding drive, marking ability and a great water attitude. She is very serious about being a team player. She comes by her marking ability naturally with a sire like FC AFC Crow Rivers Cougar's Mad Max and a maternal grandsire like FC AFC Dare To Dream. Rain's enthusiasm allows her to take corrections in stride and bounce back looking for another mark to run. There is just no quit in her. When it comes to conformation (see standing photo), Rain takes a back seat to no other field-bred female. She has the performance and the good looks of the dual purpose dogs of the mid-1970s that we are trying to replicate. Despite her high energy, she is quiet and steady on the line. She has all her health clearances.
Gunner and Rain's pups will be high energy dogs with a high degree of trainability. We also expect them to be easy to get along with in the home. The females should mature in the 65-75 pound range and 75-85 pounds for the males. These puppies will be available for new homes around the 1st of December. They will undergo the Early Neurological Stimulation program, have their dewclaws clipped, receive their first round of vaccinations and worming and they will be thoroughly socialized. A $200 deposit will hold your selection in the order that it is received.
